Farnham Food Festival
Tootsies held a stall at the Farnham Food Festival. Tootsies offered free samples of the food the children enjoy at nursery. Tris prepared a sample of the child friendly foods offered at Tootsies, vegetable and lentil curry with homemade chapatti, beef stew and parsley scones, tomato and basil soup with cheesy bread as well his much loved sweet potato and ginger cake and of course shortbread feet. The day was a great success; it was nice to share in the latest achievement on the Nursery world award for food won just the night before!

Nursery World Awards 2011
All the directors, managers and of course the chef of Tootsies donned our glad rags and attended the Nursery World Awards at the Lancaster London. Tootsies had been shortlisted for the Nursery Food Award and been visited at the beginning of September by judge Annie Seeley, a registered Public Health Nutritionist specialising in child nutrition and early years food provision.
This is the fourth year of the Nursery World Awards, which have become the top accolades for the early years education and childcare sector. The awards recognise and highlight the best organisations, teams, individuals, initiatives and resources in the UK. They shine a light on the hard work, innovation and dedication of those in early years education and childcare, illustrating best practice and raising the profile of early years. Gaby Roslin was the sparkling host, with Alan 'Voice of the Balls' Dedicoat masterful on the voiceover. /P>
Having had to nervously wait throughout the month of September we sat excitedly at the Lancaster listening as they read out the four shortlisted nurseries for the category of Nursery Food. We then held our breath for the winning nursery to be named... It was us, Tootsies day nursery had won!!
