In this room the children begin to learn how to sit on a chair unaided, use a cup without a lid, and begin to use a fork, knife, spoon and plate.

The daily routine is set and the children begin to understand what is going to happen next in the day, helping them to feel settled and happy. Throughout the day the children come together for circle times encouraging name recognition, colours, sounds and music and movement.

Throughout the day the children enjoy a range of activities including messy play, painting, sticking, drawing, playing with sand, water and many other activities, all activities are planned using the guidelines found in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS 2008).
